The Villaggio Turistico Internazionale is located on an island surrounded by the sea and a lagoon that few know, a rare and precious environment capable of awakening your sense of adventure, your need for relaxation and love for nature.
Kilometers of coastline take you to the sunrise at the lighthouse, near the mouth of the Tagliamento, and to Porto Baseleghe in the evening, to contemplate the sunset over the nearby Pre-Alps.
The sea of Bibione is a gentle sea, suitable for families and children, with its slowly sloping seabed. On clearer days, those blown by the wind or after a sudden summer storm, you will understand that you are in a gulf, which on one side slides towards Venice and on the other touches the tip of Istria.
Here you are in the northernmost point of the Mediterranean, you will notice it from the colors and essences that populate the surroundings of the resort: oleanders, holm oaks and maritime pines, native plants of this territory, will shade you in the dunes of the lighthouse, where the Tagliamento River flows.
If the sea is the space for play and relaxation, the lagoon is transformed into an out-of-this-world environment, where you find few tourists, where life is suspended between the countryside and brackish water.
Just get out of Bibione and cross the bridge that links to the mainland to discover Terzo Bacino, a landscape of old peasant houses, wheat fields flown over by herons and buzzards, canals illuminated by the sunset.
To get to know the Bibione lagoon better, we recommend that you take advantage of the passo barca Bibione-Vallevecchia, a small and comfortable ferry that will allow you to explore a wild area just beyond Bibione Pineda.

Valgrande, the enchanted valley
In Bibione, between the sea and the hinterland, we find a naturalistic oasis of about 360 hectares.
The history of Valgrande is ancient and fascinating. Three centuries ago, this area was a vast lagoon, skilfully transformed by man into a fishing valley. This delicate balance allowed the flora and fauna to flourish, creating a unique habitat. Today, the valley is recognised as a Special Protection Area and Site of Community Importance, a testament to the efforts made to safeguard its precious ecosystem.
During your visit, you will see pink flamingos, herons, wild horses and even roe deer congregating near the water sources. Amidst the lush vegetation, the remains of a Roman villa emerge, with ancient mosaics that tell of a distant past, still alive in the traces left behind.
Visiting the valley
The Val Grande Nature Oasis will be open daily, except Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with last admission at 5.30 p.m. The entrance and ticket office are located in Via Baseleghe 2, behind the Havana restaurant.
Admission costs €8 for adults, €5 for children up to the age of 12 and free for children under 5. Reservations are NOT necessary.
Two routes are currently open to the public: the Molinella route, available in 2.5 and 1.5 km variants, and the archaeological route, which leads to the site of the Roman villa.
The Oasis is accessible on foot, by bicycle and with dogs on a leash.
It is also possible to take guided tours in Valgrande through Armonia Viaggi.
