...and for those who suffer of food allergies
The celiac disease (also known as gluten intolerance or celiac sprue) is a an intolerance, a reaction to gliadin, a gluten protein found in in wheat, barley, rye, spelt, Kamut wheat and other minor cereals. In Italy almost 60.000 people suffer of diagnosed celiac disease: this means many more have this disease, which is significantly under diagnosed due to its common symptoms and signs.
The reaction to food like pasta, rice, bread (but also some salami, vegetables, fruits and beverages) can sometimes complicate like, especially when you are going to a restaurant and you can not order the dishes in the menu, because they are not gluten-free.
Fortunately there is a growing consciousness of this problem and many restaurants pay attention to this by including in their menu special dishes for people who suffer of celiac disease.
This happens also in the restaurant of the Villaggio Turistico Internazionale "Al Villaggio" where thanks to the new working method PizzaPoint the guests suffering of this intolerance can count on a menu that offers several options: pizza, pasta, deserts, bread substitutes and other dishes they can enjoy without any fear.
